Beth, Dianne, Mary Keel and Heather,

This is our Wiki page for our 21st Century Module Development work. To paraphrase the request from Eliz:

We are to create a module on 21st century skills. The content needs to be crafted in three ways - face to face format, webinar format, and online module/Moodle content. Build the course in Power Point for flexibility across these venues. Write detailed notes for each slide. (Gary, our COLT teacher, prepared us for this work - except here content and process are critical.)
These are tools that will live on our wiki so that we can draw on them as we get requests in our regions and will provide consistency in the message across the state.
The due date is no later than June 5 for all three versions. Our task is to prepare the content so that it can be used by LEAs in the F2F setting or in an online module or Moodle course. We have to attend to andragogy and embed 21st century skills.

Mary and Joyce discussed initial thinking for our task. The agenda is attached here.

Our immediate tasks are listed on the agenda:
  1. Review the resources linked below.
  2. Identify additional resources and model courses that already exist.
  3. Brainstorm ideas for our end product
  4. Volunteer for responsibilities that fit your strengths and/or interests.
  5. Respond to Doodle Polls for meeting dates and progress checks.
  6. Plan to meet F2F while we are in Raleigh.

Please review these sites for ideas and resources.

Module Development Template (Draft)

I hope this template will help us as a team, make the process of designing the modules a little easier…. Systematically designing a course or module helps keep our learning goals in mind as we structure the course/module, determine content, and plan assessment and instructional strategies so that learning can occur and be measured. Please review and send me feedback, and thoughts about whether the team wants to use this as we move forward.
